Okay, to make MA the home screen, if tapping home doesn't present you a
menu, bgo to apps, settings, applications, manage applications, arrow to
all, arrow down to home, or to touchwiz, select, arrow to clear
defaults, tap home, arrow down to use as default, and check it, arrow up
to mobile accessibility, select this and now each time MA launches as
the home screen.

If u have talkback installed, u would go to settings on phone and
go under accessibility and make sure that accessibility is checked
and then make sure talkback is checked but then u would make sure
mobile accessibility is not checked. However if mobilie
accessibility is your home screen, mobile accessibility will still
come up but when u go in to menus outside of mobile accessibility,
talkback should kick in. Hope this helps.

Honestly, while I don't really know a lot about about that
phone, I have seen that if u ever do get jelly bean, talkback
is gona be your best bet.

The ultra didn't even get 2.3.6 until I want to say
april of this year. It
was stuck on 2.3.4 wich had a bad camera issue.
Actually, there is plenty
of interest on that phone if you look into it on the
forums. The interest
is there, it is just that I don't think they can
figure out how to make a
custom rom for it. In all seriousness, it should
work. The specs on that
phone are good enough for ics, so I don't know why
Samsung isn't even
bothering.
As far as speech on gingerbread, what I did was use
talkback in conjunction
with MA. So I had the best of both worlds. I set MA
to use my default
speech ingine, so that you didn't know when you were
switching between the
two, but me personally that is what I did.

To answer your first question, the answer is most
likely not. They would
have done so by now if they were going to. In fact,
there is no custom ROM
for it and that is generally a sign. The presence of
a custom Rom doesn't
guaranty support, but the lack of one on an older
handset, usually means
that there is not enough interest in the phone to
warrant development. In
that situation, the longer the handset is on the
market without an update,
the likelihood of an official upgrade diminishes. I
would venture to say
that, though I could be wrong, you have reached the
limit of what will be
done in the future. Assuming they will though, you
can be assured at this
point only ICS will be released, this means no Jelly
Bean. No manufacture
skips a version of an operating system to go to the
next. Having said that,
Talk back works better than MA but Ma offers enough
features that it is
really a trade off and depends on the skin used
whether Ma is better or not.

Hey guys,
I am running the samsung transform ultra on boost
and it works great.
Here's my question going forward. Is android
going to release ICS or
Jelly Bean to this phone?
If so what's the most reliable screen reader to
use at this point?
Has ma released a version that works under ICS or
Jelly Bean, or are
we gonna have to go with something like talkback?
Thanks,Jed
