Regarding your questions about IMAP mail on the Mac; the problem is most likely 
being caused by the way you have IMAP configured and by your server 
connectivity. I advise you to go into the advanced account control tab for your 
mail account and change the box which says "Always Keep Copies Of Messages For 
Offline Viewing" to "Don't Keep Copies Of Any Messages". This will cause your 
client to only download the headers of mail until you actually open a message. 
This is much faster overall, especially where your Internet connection or your 
provider's server is slow.
