I would not worry about it now. Just keep everything as you have it now.  I 
uninstalled sophos as I needed to do something and can't remember now but I've 
been safe and sophos comes out with updates extremely quickly. I'd google for 
it as I myself don't have it or check http://www.download.com and see if you 
can find it there. I would not worry though, or worry as much. Unix is a very 
stable system and apple are very good at keeping us safe.
