You'd have to run this from a bootable cloned drive, I think, in order to have VoiceOver working, because the repair operations can't be run from the same drive that you're hoping to recover. That's how we used this in the past. Note that this is not the kind of recovery where you deleted and reformatted the drive, and are hoping to get something back out. I don't have an updated version for the latest OS, but the site claims to now support recovery of Fusion drives (on the latest model Macs, with both SSD and conventional hard drives).
