AppleWorks 6.2.4.smi is a self-extracting disk image and should not require Stuffit when used in the OS X environment (it does use Stuffit if you download it in System 9, but that, I hope, is another story). If the Appleworks file does not open properly in OS X, try dragging and dropping it on the Disk Copy application, which should be in your Utilities folder. If the computer is still asking for Stuffit, you might as well install it -- you're going to need it on the OS X side eventually, anyway. Version 7 of the freeware version is now available for 9 and X. You should probably install it on both sides. > 2) I've opened Sympatico's Mac OS X web site. Hmm, not sure about this one. I guess the first thing to figure out is whether this is a problem with your bookmarks or your overall connection settings. Is it just the bookmarked sites that fail to connect, or is it all sites? Does your homepage show up? What about sites whose addresses are typed into the address bar? Have you verified that you're connected to the internet while this is going on (that is, by leaving the Internet Connect window open so you can see the "connected" status)?
