Thanks everyone for the tips. I think I will get AppleCare for peace
of mind.

If your computer is still under warrantee (and, you think this may be
hardware issue), you might want to consider purchasing AppleCare for
your iBook. This will add an additional two years of warrantee to your
standard 1 year for the iBook. If you're a student/teacher (or have a
student/teacher in the family) you can purchase it at a significantly
reduced rate.

Phone support is only good for 90 days and I am well beyond that.
It's weird, I took out the battery and put it back in and now it
works. Could there still be problems??

Call Apple at 1 800 MY APPLE.
Your warranty includes phone support. They may have a fix for you,
although from the sounds of it I think they will just ask you to
take your computer in to an authorized service center.

My iBook made a snap sound this morning and the screen went black
with no power. It will not start up. It is still under warranty so
I am afraid to do much to it. It is a G4 14' Superdrive running
Mac OSX Tiger. All sofftware is up to date. Any suggestions before
sending to apple.
Thanks
