Hi, I've been given a powerbook g3 to look at which refuses to power up. As far as i am aware it was working fine and then stopped working. I'm used to desktops so am a bit stumped.
What i have found out: 1. power supply works as its generating heat. I havent checked the voltage off the end into the mac yet. 2. battery has 1 light on it when i press the test button. 3. there are no signes of damage suggesting it has been dropped or maimed. 4. if i do a reset (shift - fn - ctrl + power) the power light comes on briefly and glows the screen slightly. I suspect a dodgy power supply - the fact that it is doing nowt on power key could just be a low battery.. anyone use a powerbook who could shed some light? thanks mikek -- Mike Karthauser Managing Director - Brightstorm Ltd Email >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web >> http://www.brightstorm.co.uk Tel >> 0117 9426653 (office) 07939 252144 (mobile) Snailmail >> Unit 8, 14 King Square, Bristol BS2 8JJ -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:mac-uk@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:mac-uk-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:mac-uk-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lowendmac.com> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
