my PowerBook knowledge is less than it could be but i know the machine is 300MHz - lowendmac reckons this is a g3 series 2 - this has the shift+function+control+poweron reset. I have done the reset as you suggest but cannot book it although the powersupply is hot. I suspect that the end of the cable is damaged as the mac shows no sign of drawing power from the supply. I'll stick a multimeter on the supply this weekend and see whether that's it or try and find someone with a spare power lead that might be able to help me out.
