Hi Listers,

Thanks for the info.

The 6200 is a road Apple and I do believe the video memory was not upgradable.

On the spec side for the video memory it is listed as follows:

1 Mb DRAM (built in):

Resolutions as follows: 512 x 384 (no bit listing), 640 x 400 (no bit listing), 640 x 480 16-bit, 800 x 600 8-bit, 832 x 624 8-bit, 1024 x 768 (no bit listing), 1152 x 870 (no bit listing), 1280 x 1024 (no bit listing).

I hope this explains things a little better.

I am in the process of saving up for an upgrade to a G4 , and a LCD monitor would be a welcome addition. As it is my birthday soon I may be able to persuade some one to buy one for me but only if it could be put to immediate use on the 6200. Thence on to the G4.

Thanks again

John Abraham, Tavistock, West Devon.

Does any one know if the latest style LCD monitors could be used on a

any with a VGA input should be okay with any pc/mac. What graphics card
do you have as this is the determining factor.

I use a 15" flat panel (non apple) on my Yikes G4. I cant see why my
display wont work on earlier macs.

If they have 'SVGA' type inputs, then all you should need is a 'Mac to
VGA' converter - about a fiver on eBay.
