Hi Lindsey <--- Quote --->
Hi Got a G4 running OSX 10.1.5 and when I try and empty the trash can it says its in use. I'm still getting used to OSX and on the old system I used to rebuild desktop regularly and use disk first aid so what's the equivalent to this now? I opened Disk Utility but option to run First Aid is greyed out, and I haven't had chance to upgrade Norton yet. Thanks <--- Quote ---> Well, OS X 10.1.5, I think we need a little bit more info here, Its a long while since I used 10.1.X, but I have found an application called Cocktail to be very useful at times like this. I have a Bondi iMac here running that os so ill check its support. Cocktail allows you to empty your trashcan even when you dont have the correct permissions to do so, amongst other things. you can get a fully working trial version at www.macosxcocktail.com Its a small world, I'm just round the corner from you in Shipley (working in the same industry no less) Depending on what G4 Powermac you have I would have to say that if your going down the OS X Route you should really update to Jaguar (10.2.X) as its support for applications such as the Adobe Design Collection is far superior than OS X 10.1.X If you want to ask me more about upgrade routes you can always email me and I can help as much as possible as I managed the Upgrade Route progressively from OS 9 to the current Panther format across our hybrid PC/Mac Network.
