I can't help but I have shared the experience. I "lost" all the iTunes tracks that came gratis with the Snow iMac 5 years ago when I recently updated to the latest iTunes. All the MP3s i have ripped from my CD collection remained. I put it down to a time-expired licence and, as I had hardly listened to these I was not too worried.

As an aside, I have seen entries on this list for people who were concerned that their not quite latest generation Macs (ie without USB2.0) could not use the latest iPods. I am happy to say that my Nano that arrived courtesy of my Better Half at Christmas works (and charges, via the hub) quite happily with my G3 iMac and, while I would prefer the speed of Firewire or USB2.0, the delay is not too onerous.

Yes - today, for the first time. A song that I've played many times was suddenly reported as 'missing'. As with you, it was exactly where it was supposed to be.

This may just be coincidence, but it was just yesterday, I think, that I downloaded OSX 10.4.4 & iTunes 6.0.2.

Hello,

Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed that loads of tracks in my iTunes library have got the ( ! ) sign beside them. I haven't moved them, and if I search for them or find them, as iTunes asks me to, they are in exactly the same place as they should be. Is this a sign that my library file is getting corrupted? Is there an easy way to fix it?

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Stephen
