Are there any updates required for a Shuffle working with Tiger or,

No, there's no problem with Tiger, just Jaguar and early versions of
Panther. I've got a Mac mini running Tiger (10.4.4) and my Shuffle
works fine with it (the USB chain is all 2.0).
Oops, got my big cats mixed up, must be dreaming of G5s and dual cores!
