If you have a look at http://www.svp.co.uk/ you will se a choice of very cheap drives - and media. I have used them a lot but don't get a comission ;-) I recently added a Pioneer 110 to my G4 1.25 - it also writes to DVD Ram (Which acts exactly like a HD). The double layer blanks are expensive so maybe not worth using until they come down. Commercial DVD are often 8.4 Gb - so yes they can be read by DVD drives generally. As for readability - you may find that some older drives wont easily read discs written on new drives. Others may have more to comment. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com is a place to see user reports on fitting drives to Macs. hope this helps regards Brian -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:mac-uk@mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
