There are also the package receipts:
sudo rm -rf /var/db/com.google.macfuse.* "/Library/Receipts/MacFUSE
Core.pkg" /Library/Receipts/MacFUSE.pkg
...but I'm not sure that it will make any difference removing them.
(/var/db receipts are for Snow Leopard, /Library/Receipts is for Leopard
and Tiger)

Hi.
There are no files left where you specify (checked already), and I
have tried manually installing the package, and the real error appears
to be
installer: Cannot install on volume / because it is disabled.
I have tried the embedded touch, as well as trying from the download
source you specified (which is where I got it originally).
No luck :-(

OK, so try blowing it away and starting again:
sudo rm -rf /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs /Library/Frameworks/
MacFUSE.framework /Library/PreferencePanes/MacFUSE.prefPane /usr/local/
lib/libfuse* /usr/local/include/fuse
