Back-ups to CDs and DVDs have the advantage of not being erased by
newer back-ups. If you don't throw them away, you can retrieve the
stuff you did throw away on your computer, but later discover you
need.
Do not attempted to restore with the last copy of your back-up. I
know someone who did, and his computer trashed the BU just as it had
his original data.
I do not keep my local HD connected, so that a power surge or
lightning strike does not take it out.
