Two now? Do not connect your last copy of your back-up on any magnetic medium to your computer.
Time was persons used Dantz Retrospect or Retrospect Express. Dantz has been bought out. The new management seems to regard small businesses as it's target market. Not counting paid up-dates, I have had to buy three (3) full, legal versions of Retrospect or Retrospect Express. New versions could not read old back-ups, and were less flexible to use. I quit using them. I got tired of paying money and wrestling with the software. I think it's fair to say that Retrospect Express is everyone's _former_ back-up software. Others love SuperDuper, which I have not tried. Carbon Copy Cloner is shareware; you can try it for free. I did not know which boxes to check. SilverKeeper had fewer boxes to check, and is free from LaCie, so that's what I use (on my Western Digital external HDs).
