Hi Dan,

You failed to mention the cpu. If it is a G5 computer, shut down the
computer and remove the SCSI card. You?ll probably find that it is not
compatible (most are NOT) with the G5. Start looking for a new scanner.

Subject: MacGroup: Epson scanner and OS X

Just installed a new computer running OS X 10.3.4 and am trying to
connect our trusty old Epson ES-1200C scanner to it. I have installed
an Adaptec SCSI card in the computer and have the scanner attached to
that. The physical connection seems to work okay -- it makes the proper
noises, all the right lights come on, etc.

We've used it for years with OS 7, 8 and 9, acquiring images through
the Scantastic Photoshop plug-in that came with the scanner. That
appears not to work any longer (using Photoshop 6 under Classic) and I
do not have any drivers or TWAIN software that works with this scanner
in OS X (and Photoshop CS).

Any advice on getting this scanner to work -- preferably in OS X, but
if that's not doable, then at least in Classic?

Thanks.

Dan
