It may be that you need to drop a line to the ATI tech support folks
explaining the problem you are having (and carefully noting that the
ATI and Apple sites are pointing to each other rather than to a
solution). Your card, being a older pci style video card, is well,
older and quickly be left behind in favor of the AGP style video cards.
That last pci card from ATi was the 7000 series card which was released
a long time ago.
Failing any help there, you might consider upgrading the AGP card in
your G4 to one that supports dual monitors, I believe you have a 4X AGP
port, so the Radeon 9600 should work (IIRC it comes with at least 64 MB
of memory so to run two monitors you would have at least 32MB per
monitor.

p.s. 10.3.3 is being tested by developers now and should be out in a
little while. It might fix the problem. Also consider dropping a line
to Apple's feedback listing the problems you are having.
