Try this.
Connect to the Internet and open a browser and type in http://17.254.0.91
and press return. If you get to Apple's web site, you have a flakey DNS
server from your ISP.
If this is the case, use a manual DNS entry.
This will override the DNS number you are getting from your ISP.
This should work:

198.41.0.4
192.36.148.17

Type both of these into your DNS field in the Network Preference Pane. Then
reconnect to the Internet and let me know if it was successful.
