I just downloaded and installed the new update on my 17" iMac. Everything seemed to go smoothly until it reached the point where it said it needed to restart or shut down. I chose "restart" and left the room to get a cup of coffee.
Less than 5 minutes later I returned, expecting to be asked for my admin password. Instead I see the "swoopy blue" screen and an arrow pointer. Wiggling the mouse didn't do anything... pressing an arrow key didn't do anything... pressing the "eject" button opened the drive door, and pressing it again closed the drive door... and now I still have the "swoopy blue" screen and a spinning multi-colored beachball.
