I have to second the advice that Ward mentioned about Epson scanners. I have the
Epson 2450 and have had good results with it. My scanner came with a bundled
scan package that included a program from Lasersoft. I have found it to produce
a better scan than the one from Epson. They have a updated driver for OS 10.2
that you can purchase and download from their web site ( lasersoft.com ) for $50
for the basic program, which I have found is good for my uses. It is the "SE"
program.
