I'm not experienced enough to answer that.  All I know is that I dragged 
the thunderbird profiles and mail folders that I had copied to the hard 
drive to the thunderbird profiles and mail folders in my home folder on 
the HD, and it copied them, but I still can't get to anything in 
thunderbird that I had prior to the erase and install.  I'm just sick 
about this, because it could have been avoided.  But I'm still hoping 
someone will tell me what I can do to correct the situation.
