[snip...] I recall reading something about 1 year ago on the Monster of Rumors (Slashdot) that there would be a new generation of digital cameras coming out which would put all the present generation of digital cameras to shame, and put digital cameras on par with film cameras. At the time of the article, the new generation cameras were already available and cost $3000. The prediction was that they would be down to about $1000 by now. (Of course, I couldn't find this article when I just searched for it now.) Any idea as to what happened to these supposed groundbreakers?
