Hello Bill, Is that PowerBook a G4 model? If so, they may be able to make it work. The 600Mhz or faster requirement is for the G3 'Books, folks are reporting it working with any G4 'Books (and Apple's site also lists any G4)
http://www.apple.com/ichat/ These may be of some help: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/isight/iSight_reports.html http://www.eqinfo.ucsd.edu/~atul/research/videoconf/videoconf.html http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/topic/30479-1.html http://www.ispq.com/ http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/ To use iChat AV they will need either a .Mac account or use the free AIM account (I can report that iChat works quite well with either one, though I suggest you throttle the bandwidth settings back from "unlimited" to 2Mbps for some ISP connections). For Yahoo! Messenger, this might be of some help: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14474&vid=104191 But lost of folks do not like Yahoo! Messenger support for Macs ("But what Yahoo Messenger for the Mac doesn't support is Audio! So all I could do was exchange video and use the text chat.", " The recent "opener" script looks for a preference file (name begins with com.yahoo.Messenger.)created by this software in which is stored your Yahoo password in simple Base 64 encoding which can be decoded on numerous websites such as http://www.securitystats.com/tools/base64.php.") so tread cautiously with this one.
