This might have already been mentioned but add together the cost of a new 
machine and all the new
software for your machine to become a Windows box. My machine would be in the 
several thousands
easily.
Machine $1500
Photoshop $650 ?
Indesign $650 ?
Adobe Acrobat $650 ?
...

etc... This shows you already have a huge financial investment in the equipment 
and software. May
not be the only thing of concern to the new boss but it should at least catch 
his /her eye. mixed
with the virus idea and maybe a discussion about retraining costs might change 
thier view of the
"bottom line".
