Well, everyone, I think we did it! My boss is planning on buying a new Mac sometime this week. I not completely relax until it is installed, but I think he is going to stick to it. Thanks to everyone for the overwhelming number of ideas and facts. I actually did not get the opportunity to present all that to him. I guess I made a better case for myself that I thought I did up front, because he made this decision before I had the chance to try to convince him:) I still plan to put all of the information you gathered on paper for him, though, so that he can feel secure in his (good) decision.
Coincidentally, the person that I am talking with about ordering our new Mac is one of the people that responded to my plea for help. Mark Henderson with MacTown. Mark, I want to apologize for the somewhat rude message I was forced to leave for you this morning (Monday). He was standing over my shoulder dictating what I should say. Thank you very much for returning his call so quickly. I really want to be able to order this computer from MacTown instead of going out of town for it, so I appreciate you keeping him happy, as difficult as that might be:) As for the old equipment that we might have for sale, I will keep the list posted on that. Most of the computers that we were using are very old: Mac II Classic, I believe. If anyone is interested in those let me know and I will pass it on to them. The graphics computer is better, I think an 8100 with a G3 chip. I am not sure if we will sell that or keep it as a back up, but I will find out. Thanks again for all the information Diane | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be September 23.
