With the recent suggestion of holding our meetings of the LCS at MacTown, I
feel compelled to offer up my opinion. I can think of nothing that meeting
at MacTown would offer over where we currently meet.

The parking we have at Pitt is off-road and plentiful. I usually open the
building around 6:00 PM and anyone may arrive early if they wish.

Several years ago when The Complete Mac was still in business, they were
welcome to and frequently did set up a product display table demonstrating
the latest Mac products at our Pitt meeting site. Certainly MacTown or
another Mac vendor would be welcome to have a product display at our
meetings.

We are a non-profit organization and It would not be appropriate for the LCS
to favor MacTown over the other local businesses that sell Mac products or
generic parts that work in Macs; namely, CompUSA, BestBuy and Murphy Camera.

In Louisville, there are also several independent computer companies whose
business is primarily the repair of Macs. I have used their services before
and have had quality service equal to the good service I have received from
MacTown.

I think it is necessary for the LCS to maintain an impartiality when it
comes to endorsement or sponsorship, whether real or implied, in our
relationships with these small businesses.

I?m for staying where we are.

Just my 20 millicents...

Bill King
