1. it's been my experience that printed labels are okay most of the  
time, but cause more problems in the end, because most have started  
to peel up around the edges

2. I've bought TDK and Memorex printable DVDs and had no problems  
with them in a number of players.
You may want to check the Office Depot DVDs that you have and see if  
they play in your DVD player or not.
also, i've had no problem with DVD-R and only one problem with DVD+R

3. regarding discus and the Epson R220: you may want to measure the  
CD/DVD tray and compare it to the other Epson templates in Discus.
all of the R-series epson printers listed have the same dimensions  
listed. (16mm from the left and 8.5mm from the top) so that it may  
work just fine with your R220.
If not, perhaps the drivers for the R200 would work for you.
