If you're looking for an internet phone solution, you could do worse than Gizmo. They have clients for most flavors of computer and their Mac client is about the slickest piece of software I've ever seen. They have free internet to internet calling and $.02 a minute for calling to a land line anywhere in the US, with pretty cheap international rates, too. I got a $30 USB headset for my iBook and I can walk around the house, thanks to Airport and broadband, talking to people anywhere and it sounds as good as a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line. You don't have to do anything to your router. You just fire up the software, choose your headset in the preferences and start callin'. j. -- Jonathan Fletcher jfletch at newmediaconstco.com | The next meeting of the Louisville Computer Society will | be September 27 at Pitt Academy, 6010 Preston Highway. | The LCS Web page is <http://www.kymac.org>. | List posting address: <mailto:macgroup at erdos.math.louisville.edu> | List Web page: <http://erdos.math.louisville.edu/macgroup>
