I never used Option+Eject until you mentioned it. I always have used the
plain Eject key to open the Combo drive.

I just want to know: If Eject now opens my Combo drive door, and if I add
your DVD-RW drive, what command will open that drive door?

You said Option+Eject will open the second DVD-RW drive. But I find that
Option+Eject presently opens my Combo drive. How then is Option+Eject going
to open the second drive if it already opens the first drive?

In other words, have you actually installed a second CD drive in a
mirror-door machine and watched what command it takes to open each drive
door?
