You can use any bluetooth mouse you wish.
You just sync it to the laptop and off you go.
I don't use my scanner enough to worry about it.
When I need it I just plug it in.
Printers are shared from another mac. If you do not have another Mac
use a Airport express or Airport Extreme.
I have used Slingshot and automator actions to sync folders on network
hard drives.

If I need a hard drive I plug it in.

That handle for the Mac Pro is really great. I also like the idea of
using it as a heat sink to tilt the machine. I currently have the
fan pad and it works okay but would not be great to lug around. I
like to use a mouse versus the track pad for some of the work I do.
Is there a bluetooth or wireless mouse I could use with the Mac Pro
without using a bluetooth keyboard?
The one thing I note here is that if I use the laptop as the main
computer, I will still need to invest in some peripherals to make it
viable. What do you use at home to hook all these peripherals into
so you don’t have to keep pulling the cords in and out each time you
use it at home. I have 2 printers, 1 scanner, 2 extra hard drives,
DSL router and wireless router.

here is your handle

The only time mine gets real hot is when I have been doing a lot of
video work or I am using Fusion a lot.
Both really use the CPU so I would expect that.
Now heat is a subjective term so what is hot to one is not hot to
someone else.
Two items to help.
software:
Fan control

Fan pad

I use the FanControl software when it gets hot for me. I really
don't want to
drag around the Fan pad.
