Is there a bluetooth or wireless mouse I could use with the Mac Pro without using a bluetooth keyboard?
Any Bluetooth mouse should work without a keyboard. I've used several types over the last couple of years including ones from Kensington, Logitech, Microsoft and Apple.
My current favorite is the Logitech V470.I don't care for the Apple Mighty Mouse since I always end up pushing the wrong button. The top of the mouse is a solid shell, and where you press determines the button it thinks you pushed. The small scrolling ball works well. It's also a bit larger than most notebook mice. I'm using mine at home on the desktop machine.
My wife uses a Kensington Si670m, and it seems okay. I find scrolling with the wheel to be a little jerky.
I had a Microsoft 5000 Bluetooth mouse. Besides being ugly — "high definition" black and white — it ate batteries. It worked fine and I'd still be using it had it not dropped onto a sidewalk and broken in the Seattle airport. (I just got used to packing some charged AAA rechargeable Alkaline cells in my laptop case.)
