I just got my new MBp, so I am sure the new texedit features in Leopard will be all I need! -- I am glad I asked the question. Will try later today.:) From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Marta Edie Sent: Friday, April 18, 2008 3:29 PM To: Macintosh topics Subject: [MacGroup] textedit quirks I like Textedit to do my letters etc. I actually do prefer it to Bean and and I never did anything with Pages, since it simply is too much for my small needs. I do dislike, though, that it always tells you at the top the name of the file ( you don't need that on a letter) and it prints the date whenever you make a copy, although the letter or file had been written much earlier and it gives you the page numbers, being good sometimes, but when you have just one page, it then prints 2 although there is no second page. This annoys me. I can remedy that by changing the print dialog box from all to from 1 to 1, but that should be unnecessary Any advice or maybe a different application. Bean is great , but you can't change fonts and font sizes right from the page, you have to bring up the font menu and some. I need an easy does it. Since Apple works isn't in the works anymore, I haven't been very satisfied with what I had access to.
