I was just having a conversation the other day with a "Windows" buddy and I was telling him how I didn't mind for years paying more for Apple computers because of the quality and that they usually lasted longer than my need for them. I usually bought a new one because the old one's system was too slow. It was never because of a machine failure. However, my last Macbook bit the dust after about 2 years and I bought a new Macbook Pro. Though I like the Macbook Pro I can tell it is not made as nicely as the previous Macs. And I don't have the confidence in the quality either. I have the 17" Apple Studio display which had the blinking light problem. Rather than put out the expense of replacing the light in it, I just spent $100 more and bought a 22" monitor. I have had friends who also had their Mac computers die. I don't feel the quality is there anymore to support the prices they are charging for what you get. I bought a 2nd laptop recently to run some genealogy CDs which was a Windows model I bought for $349. It works very well and compares to the memory and running speed of my Mac. This is very sad as I have always loved Apple computers...
>Moral of the story: Apple quality control has gone downhill (10 >repairs on 5 machines in 3.5 years), but their customer relations >department can fix your problems even when everyone else says no. _______________________________________________ MacGroup mailing list [email protected] http://www.math.louisville.edu/mailman/listinfo/macgroup
