George --

I can tell you what I did. I have a MacBookPro. I purchased an HDMI to mini DVI converter and used the HDMI to plug into the TV. Then I had to purchase an audio cable to go from the speaker port to a stereo receiver since the DVI cable doesn't send audio. I then switched the TV to the HDMI2 port where the computer is connected. The TV immediately displayed the computer screen, but I had to finagle with the Mac displays setting to get the resolution right.

Hope this helps.

could it be that the t.v. is not set to the correct channel, there should be a switch, usually on the back to go from 3 to 4, or might be different on your model.

I am attempting to connect our computer to a new Toshiba TV. I am using an EMac with 700 MHz Power PC G4 processor and OSX 10.4.11 . I have checked my Mini-VGA Video Adopter and my connecting cable. Both are good. I have been to MacAuthority and to the Apple Store. Both gave me suggestions say it should work. I have looked at everything I can find in Apple Help and in the TV manual and have tried to meticulously follow their instruction and all I get is "NO SIGNAL FOUND". Am I trying the impossible or am I missing something? Any suggestions appreciated.
