There are different MAC addresses for different pieces of hardware,
but for a wireless connection you'll want the one that goes with the
AirPort card, i.e. the AirPort ID number.

A friend setting up a wireless
connection needs to know the MAC address of his Mac. If one
goes to the About this Mac menu (under the Apple) and clicks
the "More Info..." button, the Hardware Overview shows a

characters with several dashes in it. Is that the same as
the MAC address?
If not, where would one find that information?
