NeoOffice is the ported version of OpenOffice, for Macs.  If your daughter
did not save the file, but brought home a file that needed reference files
from the PC at school... it would make sense that "not import the simplest
of pictures" , requardless of format, as there were no files on the Mac to
reference to.  Glad you were able to finish up the project though.
