I found a solution, but it is going to take some work to convert all
the movies so Snow Leopard can use them.
There is a free program (MPEG Streamclip) that I could not live
without. I have a JVC camcorder, and a Panasonic. They each record
in different formats. The Panasonic can be read by iMovie and
Finalcut but the JVC is a bear and I have to convert the files from
their format to Quicktime before they can be imported into iMovie or
FinalCut.
I also used this program to convert one of the educational video's and
it now plays in Quicktime on Snow Leopard. I say it will be a big
job, but there is a feature in Streamclip that allows for "batch"
conversion. I use that when taking film off the camera so I'll put
all the recorded videos using SnapZ and convert them all at once.
Thought I would pass this along.

A word of caution about movies in Quicktime played in Quicktime in
Snow Leopard.
I had recorded several educational movies off Apple's tutorial site
using Snap Z Pro. They would play great in Quicktime with Leopard
but when I tried to play them on the machine that has Snow Leopard I
got sound but no video.
So, I don't know if there is a way to convert these so they'll work
in Snow Leopard's Quicktime or not but I did want to send out a
caution to those that may move to Snow Leopard and find some of
their work doesn't play well.
If I find a solution I'll let you know, if you have one please pass
it on, sure would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
John
