Stuart is this the Mac Mini that someone else couldn't get to work? If that doesn't work power down the mac, power it on holding down the mouse button to eject the cd rom. If that doesn't work, power down the mac, power it on holding down all of these keys, P+R+APPLE+OPTION. Wait for it to chime three times. Now try to start from the cd again.
