Nora,

I don't think you have to worry about Office 2004 macro viruses. The last ones 
I saw were for Word '97 version. That said, it wouldn't hurt to turn on the 
preference that warns you of macros inserted in documents. If you do that, a 
popup window will tell you that the file has macros and give you the 
opportunity to disable them if you like.
