I can save almost all files in .doc format, if I want to, so it seems.
In fact I usually send them that way when I know my friends have a
PC. I can do that in three different .doc formats. I use a MBpro and
leopard. I am not sure whether tiger will do this, but I am going to
check it out.

Nolan,
I don't know if your editor's would accept but doing your work in
Pages
you can save it as a Word document. I have used such many times
and the
Windows folks say it works fine when they receive. It may not work
for
what you do but for the average bear Pages does a good job in saving
your work for Word.

Does anyone in the group know the answer to Nora's question? I'm
running Office for Mac 2008, but only because most of my editors
require
Word (which I really dislike). I, too, would like to know about
turning
off macro support.
