Marta, i share your feelings, i am still running an iBook with 10.5
and an older mac mini, also with 10.5, only the mini can upgrade, but
just to 10.6 i believe.  i am old school, if it ain't broke, i don't
fix it.

with that said, please contact me if you have issues with your older
setup, i may be of some assistance working things out.

sounds like what you described with the popups on sites, a result of
either java-scripting, or flash embedded on the site.  both should be
controllable by turning those off.  let me know which browser you use,
and which OS X version is running.
