I have been wanting to design web sites for some time now and towards that end have read through W3C's documentation for HTML4, HTML5, CSS2 and CSS3, worked through some basic tutorials on those languages and at the suggestion of an Apple Specialist have also worked through a basic tutorial on PHP. I found a text editor, Bluefish, at sourceforge.net and encountered an error in opening generated by security preferences settings.
1. Would Bluefish be a good editor for web development on a Macbook Pro (circa 2010, running OSX 10.8.2)? 2. Is source forge still a good dependable open source site that is safe to change the preferences to allow? 3. Have web hosts become so accommodating with their development tools that programming is almost unnecessary? Thanks, Peter
