That is very interesting for wrapping CNC gcode on an unleveled surface however I am unsure if it would work with an stl file. However the principle is indeed the same. BCNC also has this feature built in for milling circuit boards and such. Am just unsure if machinekit currently has it also since it does include some probing code.
