I think it would cost a bit more. Often, most isp's that have isdn,
you pay for the service THEN per hour connected. For 75, I could see
MAYBE a "unlimited" deal. Also there is different prices between
single (64k) and dual (128K) channel isdn. Also, the phone company's
on top of paying through the nose with the isp, have to pay per hour
for using the line! EVEN if its a local call! Its more likely in
$150-200 range. Just ask dan knight! Unless your getting a special
setup, where the isp calls your modem when someone try's to connect
(which is extra in itself) and only get hits during a certain time
period or having the isdn on just during certain times (which is
unlikely).
I would feel that a better deal, especially for a website would be to
get a fractional-t1. Its more reliable, has more bandwidth, is live
24/7 and there is a number of different deal's that you can get. Like
you can "share" the connection with others to get a cheaper price
(you still have your connection, but you share the Internet bandwidth
with others) and time based metering.
It probably would be cheaper too- in the end.
Of course, 350 meg a month is *nothing* compared to what the big
websites get, with dedicated server-clusters. I would feel what would
be better (and cheaper) would be to have it hosted at a company. Even
if you pay through the nose, for such a relatively small site (40-50
bucks a month with ALL the goodies + getting ripped off) it would be
cheaper now, probably in the long term and they will have people to
watch over the stuff and much more bandwidth when you get a bunch of
hit's. If its to keep it on a mac, there ARE various company's that
will host your page on mac's.
thanks, hope this helps.
