What you want is EXACTLY what these broadband routers do:
Serve IP addresses via DHCP
Route traffic through NAT (network address translation)
Firewall (again, NAT).
I'd look at the SMC Barricade and Linksys models as there are good deals on
both to be had - like under $100...
