And then there's the ones who know better <G>. I mean a router is a router.
I don't need someone to tell me it supports Macs. I just need it to have a
WAN port, a couple of switched LAN ports and a few standard router features
like NAT and VPN. To a certain degree I feel like it's up to the user to
have some degree of understanding about the features and functionality of
the product or they should go with a brand that caters to their need for
hand-holding. Some companies are incredibly good at both making a widely
compatible and powerful product as well as supporting and informing new
buyers who need more information and instructing than others - Netopia was
one of those companies.

I do understand and completely share the frustration people feel when
dealing with companies who appear to almost WILLFULLY withhold Mac support
from seemingly easily supported products though. Unfortunately, we as Mac
users must often learn for ourselves what is and isn't truly a
Mac-compatible product on a case by case basis. Such is the price we pay for
using such a more satisfying computer on so many other levels that are more
important to me than simple interoperability or compatibility across the
board.

TCP/IP networking is neither Mac nor PC centric. Learning how it works will
benefit ANYONE who uses a computer and it REALLY isn't very complicated once
you learn some simple rules about how it works.
