Being the owner of over 40 mac's I can say I love them I am a Mac
addict.
Having said that I also own 1 PC used mostly for work and gaming.
First off if you want to talk about the fastest PC you need to forget
about Intel
and the P4. AMD make's a much better cpu. The P4 2000MHz scores about
the same on bench marks as the Athlon 1400Mhz. And AMD's new XP cpu's
up to 1600MHz kill the P4.
My PC a 1200MHz Athlon (soon to be upgraded to the XP1600MHZ) with DDR
ram 256 a 266MHz front side bus ATA100 and raid Geforce 2mx400 64mb
running Windows XP is
very Fast.
Windows XP is a very good OS I have used all the windows and it's about
time thay made a good OS.
2000 was ok.

The QS 867 is still a fast computer and much better looking one too.
And I think that we will see the speed going up soon.
also if you compare a Mac and PC of the same speed the Mac would win.
But I do think the Mac's are a bit expensive.
What Mac's need is faster bus speed and ATA 100 DDR memory would be nice
too.

my 2 cent's
