I tried setting up the same thing some time ago. I use BellSouth DSL and
a D-Link Router. I set up Quid Pro Quo 2.6 (I think that's the version)
on my PM 8500 w/ a static local IP address. The router was configured to
forward port 80 requests to the PM 8500 (I tried it with both a local
static and dynamic address). I could access the web server locally from
all my other computers, but could not access it by typing in the dynamic
address my router got from BellSouth. Neither could anyone else (I asked
a few other friends). I wonder if providers can prevent port 80 requests
like this to keep people from putting up web servers just like we're
trying to do. :-)
