Wait... you got the SE/30 to connect to the 630 using the Phonenet setup 
you have? But you can't get the SE/30 to connect to a different computer? 
(I forget what computer you were first trying to use).

If that's the case, then yes, you might have a software problem... but 
also, do you know for sure the printer port works on the other computer? 
You can choose to use a different port (like the modem port) via the 
AppleTalk control panel (but I don't remember if you can change ports 
using the Network control panel in Classic networking). Is it possible 
the printer port is no good? (I have a PM 6500 like that, the printer 
port was fried on it long ago)
